December 31 is the Last Day to Apply for an Independent Foreclosure Review

***For an update on the IFR program, please read our more recent post from April 3, 2013.

Before this week’s holiday whirlwind is over, we remind those who feel that they wrongly were placed into foreclosure proceedings that the deadline to apply for the Independent Foreclosure Review (IFR) program is Monday, December 31. To find out if you are eligible for the IFR program, which was designed to offer compensation to homeowners who were wrongfully foreclosed on in 2009 and 2010, please call the HPF-managed IFR hotline at 1-855-778-0855 before the end of the year. For detailed information on the program, visit our more in-depth IFR post by clicking here.

Another reminder: HPF’s Homeowner’s HOPE Hotline at 888-995-HOPE (4673) will remain open during the upcoming holiday weekend, including on New Year’s Day. Please don’t hesitate to call at any time to speak with one of our housing counselors about your financial situation.

We wish everyone a safe and festive end to 2012.
