Halting Evictions for the Holidays: HPF is Ready to Help

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac announced recently that they are suspending foreclosure evictions from December 19 through January 2 to allow borrowers to remain in their homes for the holidays. Additionally, some of the nation’s largest banks – including Wells Fargo, Bank of America, SunTrust, and Citigroup – have announced that they too will halt foreclosure activity until after the New Year.

While these foreclosure moratoriums are a welcome reprieve for homeowners facing foreclosure, HPF recognizes that the holiday season can cause additional stress to those who are already struggling financially. That is why HPF’s housing counselors are available for consumers every single day of the year – even Christmas and New Year’s – to answer questions, explain available options, and help get homeowners started on the path to financial stability.

The call is free and counselors are standing by – call 888-995-HOPE (4673).
